腦轉移瘤還有治療的必要嗎？
Is there any need to treat brain metastases?
- Aya El Helali：Yes and no. It usually depends on the clinical picture
If the tumor moves to the brain and the patient is well (either no symptoms or very minimal symptoms) then we encourage treatment to try to lengthen survival.
However, if the patient is very unwell, with severe symptoms such as reduced conscious state, or unable to communicate then it is best to make sure the patient is comfortable and pain free and make sure the patient is treat in a palliative care setting
腦轉移瘤要如何治療？藥物有用嗎？
- Aya El Helali：There’s are three ways in which brain cancers can be treated:
1.Surgery
2.radiotherapy and/or
3.chemotherapy.
Usually the treatment of brain metastasis will involve 1 or all treatment approaches. Depending on the tumor type, some cancers that move to the brain are very sensitive to chemotherapy or target treatment (depending on the genetic make up of your tumor type).

- There are a number of symptoms of advanced cancer. However, the most common being:
1.Loss of energy and feeling tired and/or weak
2.Weight loss (without trying)
3.Poor appetite
4.feeling sick
